Background
The Shire has received a development application for a Shop (Hardware Store) and Showrooms at 44 (Lot 256) and 34 (Lot 100) Clarke Road, Margaret River.
The application will be assessed though the Development Assessment Panel (DAP) pathway. The decision maker for this application will be the DAP, not the Shire. As part of the DAP process, the Shire is required to submit a Responsible Authority Report (RAR) and is seeking community input to support the preparation of this report.
About the Proposal
The development will consist of two separate buildings labelled on the plans as follows:
The development is orientated around a central carparking area with a peripheral service access on the outside of the buildings. Some remnant vegetation has been retained on the north-eastern boundary, and planting has been proposed on the north-western and south-eastern boundaries.
The applicant has been granted environmental approvals for land clearing from the federal government, and the proposal has been referred to the EPA. The EPA have not assessed the proposal owing to the federal government decision and environmental impacts being considered through the planning process.
