In 2023, in collaboration with Main Roads, the Shire engaged a consultant (Stantec) to undertake a traffic study for Cowaramup. The Study will inform future improvements required to manage traffic growth, including improvements for pedestrians and cyclists. The Prioritised Action Plan, within the Study includes recommended short (one to three years), medium (four to six years), and long term (seven to ten years) actions for the Shire and Main Roads to implement. Please note the Shire and Main roads WA will work to implement all of the recommendations within the next one to three years, within budget limitations. Further detailed information can be viewed in the Prioritised Action Plan within the ITS.

A short term solution has been developed that provides a 1.5 metre wide painted median to allow a safe space for pedestrians to stop before completing their crossing. The median will be white and easy to see from vehicles entering the town. A map of the proposed works can be viewed online here.
