The Shire has developed Draft Landscape Plans for Barret Street Weir and Rendell Close Weir. The purpose of this work is to help protect the environment of these places and to better manage recreation use.

The Margaret River and its foreshore areas are registered Aboriginal Heritage sites and hold important spiritual value for the Indigenous Traditional Owners; the Wadandi and Piblemen people. The draft plans aim to:

  • Stabilise the entry and exit points to the river, using natural and aesthetically pleasing materials that will address erosion
  • Manage pedestrian, bike and car movement through the sites to improve safety and limit areas of exposed soils, and
  • Undertake revegetation in appropriate areas.

Have your say on the proposed management actions via the survey below, before Friday 18 June.
