Project Background

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is reviewing our Firebreak Notice.

The Notice sets obligations for how all private owners should prepare the properties to address the impact of fire. The purpose of this review is to ensure local fire management requirements are contemporary, effective, and reflective of community values.

As part of this process, we will convene a Community Jury.

The Community Jury will work together to understand the issues and challenges and make recommendations to the Shire's CEO on the content of the next Firebreak Notice.

Fire safety effects the entire community. We want people from across the Shire to join the Jury, regardless of where you live.

The Jury is being recruited independently by Deliberately Engaging, and everyone over 16 and over is eligible to register. Your details will not be provided to council without your permission.
