Scheme and Strategy edge closer to completion

On 26 August 2020, Council will consider draft Local Planning Scheme No. 2 (LPS2) for the purposes of allowing it to be advertised for public consultation (see Council report in document library). Council will also note the Local Planning Strategy which has been modified to accord with the requirements of the Western Australian Planning Commission and can now be publicly advertised.

Subject to Council’s approval, LPS2 will be forwarded to the EPA and WAPC before it can be advertised which is likely to occur in the first 3 months of 2021. The Strategy, having already been certified by the WAPC, will be subject to a consultation process which will occur between September and November 2020.

The completion of these documents through to draft stage represents the culmination of 2 years of work with extensive input from the local community.
