Consultation has concluded

On the 10^th May 2023, Council resolved to make draft changes to the planning policy which regulates use of rural residential properties for the purpose of holiday homes (LPP7 – Short Stay Accommodation).

Prior to considering the policy for final approval, the Shire are making the policy available for public consultation.

In summary, the changes to the policy are intended to prevent holiday homes from locating in rural residential areas where the bushfire hazard is categorised as ‘extreme’. In areas where the bushfire hazard is deemed to be ‘low’ the process for gaining an approval will be made simpler.
