Riflebutts Inclusive Playspace

The play equipment at Riflebutts Reserve is scheduled for replacement. As Riflebutts is a well-loved (and well used) park with toilets, BBQ's, picnic tables etc. that allow you to visit for more than an hour or so, rather than replace the play equipment like for like, the Shire has decided to give Riflebutts a bit of a makeover.

The Shire engaged Emerge Associates to create a concept plan with the design objectives being:

• Cost effective and long lasting
• Style, colours and material suited to the location
• Inclusive playspace (meaning it can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities)
• Increased shade and seating

The concept that Emerge Associates created includes a unique play structure (based on Riflebutts historic beach shacks), additional shade , seating and pathway upgrades.

Before we progress the design any further we want to gain an understanding of how you currently use Riflebutts and if the upgrade proposed will allow you to continue to enjoy this facility. The feedback you provide will be used to determine whether we need to make any changes to the design before progressing the project through to construction.
