Developing the community vision for 2036 has extended over a twelve-month period, to include a Community Reference Group who conducted a major review of the Shire's Community Strategic Plan (CSP) through six key sessions over 2016-17.

The communities vision for the next 20 years is to adapt to changing climate, environment and social dynamics and celebrate a sense of place for our local Indigenous culture and our multicultural and creative
community.

Here you can check out the Community Strategic Plan 2036, read the community engagement summary report and watch the journey of the community group who conducted the review.

What is the Community Strategic Plan?

It is a legislative requirement for the Shire to have a plan for the future, and to conduct a major review of the that plan through community engagement, every four years under section 5.56 of the Local Government Act 1995.

The purpose of the Your Vision 2036 project has been to develop a clear vision for the region into the future, which will guide the development of Shire projects and services to the community through a series of corporate documents. These documents are routinely reviewed to ensure they are delivering the best outcome to the community and to ensure they are aligned. This includes the Long Term Financial Plan, Asset Management Plan, Workforce Plan, Corporate Business Plan (4 year) and annual plans and budget.
