Consultation has concluded

The Shire is pleased to announce that it has undertaken upgrades to the Alexandra Bridge Camping Grounds and Foreshore Area. These upgrades will ensure that the camping ground is compliant with the Nature Based Parks Licensing guidelines, so that the camping ground can continue to operate now and into the future.

Please use this platform to have your say on the Alexandra Bridge Camping Ground and Foreshore concept plans and to keep up to date with the improvements to Alexandra Bridge.

    The required changes that have been completed to-date include;

    • Creation of a distinct camping ground area with 21 formalised campsites;

    • Creation of a separate day use area along the foreshore for the use of local residents and visitors;

    • Increased public car parking along the foreshore;

    • Removal of dangerous trees;

    • Removal of old picnic tables and concrete BBQs;

    • Improved fire break access;

    • Improved road and paths networks;

    • Improved drainage works;

    • Revegetation works;

    • Existing water line upgrade and a new common water tap installed;

    • Inclusion of a camp fire extinguisher; and

    • Installation of a temporary self-registration box.

    Further required changes to be completed, subject to various external party approvals include the following;

    • Construction of an information and self-registration station;

    • Provision of camp ground signage;

    • Reserve burn off;

    • Further dangerous and road pinch point trees removed;

    • Reinstalment of Jetty;

    • Installation of landscape furniture (i.e. picnic tables) for day use areas.
