The Shire of Augusta Margaret River has engaged consultants, Land Insights to identify potential impacts of climate change on our coastline and the risks and management options to address any identified risks. Specifically, this involves a review of the Shire’s Coastal Hazard Risk Management and Adaptation Plan (CHRMAP).

Our coastal areas are highly appreciated for their natural beauty, cultural, recreational and economic values. The CHRMAP will develop appropriate responses to coastal management based on community expectations, technical expertise, resources, environmental impacts and collaboration with coastal managers.

The following survey aims to capture community opinion, test preconceptions and knowledge about coastal impacts from climate change, and gauge support for the responsibility of managing the Shire’s coastline.

The results of this survey will feed into the CHRMAP review. Individual responses will be kept anonymous and aggregated to maintain anonymity.

Should you wish to make a more detailed and personal submission please do so by emailing amrshire.amrshire.wa.gov.au with the heading CHRMAPS – Feedback.

Thank you for your interest and assistance with this study.

Submissions close 5pm Monday 14 August.
