Landscaping on the Augusta Main Street

The Shire worked with community leaders to develop a landscaping plan for Augusta Main Street. Implementation of this plan will provide practical and sustainable native plantings along the main street, to create a more welcoming and accessible place for all.

The plan was developed with the following considerations:

  • There is limited water access along the Augusta Main street for reticulation and so the plan features carefully selected waterwise flowering natives
  • Much of the paved areas along main street falls under private property and the proposed garden beds have been identified on Shire land
  • The proposed changes are mindful of crossing points and safety requirements for pedestrians and drivers.

The consultation open period in relation to the landscaping plan concluded on the 5 July.

The summary report of the community engagement process can be accessed here or is also available under the documents tab.
