In 2019 the Capes Regional Organisation of Councils (CAPEROC), a joint committee of the Shire of Augusta Margaret River (The Shire) and the City of Busselton (The City), identified that a strategy for the tracks and trails within the Leeuwin Naturaliste Region was required.
CAPEROC appointed local consultant COMMON Ground Trails to develop the Leeuwin Naturaliste Regional Trails Strategy (LNRTS) following extensive stakeholder engagement throughout 2019-20. The LNRTS is an up-to-date strategy for trails on Shire and City land that looks to guide future strategic investment in trail recreation, tourism and event development throughout the Leeuwin Naturaliste Region. LNRTS will also assist groups such as Unbeaten Tracks in the development of trail related masterplans and business cases.
CAPROC are now seeking submissions on the draft LNRTS until 4pm Monday 15 Feb 2021.
All relevant documents can be located in the document library.
