Consultation has concluded
P222500
Scheme Amendment 75 to Local Planning Scheme No. 1
54 (Lot 38) Willmott Avenue, Margaret River
The Shire has received a proposal to rezone the former Water Corporation Depot site at 54 Willmott Avenue, Margaret River to allow for residential development. The proposal would change the zoning of the property from Public Utilities to Residential, with a medium density residential zoning (R40), which would allow between 7 - 10 dwellings. A key aim of the Shire’s Local Planning Strategy 2036 is to increase housing opportunities close to the town centre.
This is to promote greater sustainability, affordability and provide housing choice for different household types. To improve housing choice, the Shire is prepared to consider a higher density for the site to allow additional dwellings, subject to special design criteria controlling things like:
• building placement and height
• location of garages/carparking
• landscaping
• appropriate building design.
Detailed information can be found in the Council report on this matter in the adjoining Documents tab.
Feedback is sought from the community on this proposed change, as well the possibility of a higher density at this location.
Submissions for this proposal have now closed.
