Project overview

The Witchcliffe Village Centre Character Controls will set the long-term direction for future commercial development within the main street, Redgate Road and surrounding open space, taking into account the outcomes of the Witchcliffe Character Study

Witchcliffe Village Centre Character Controls

To complement the Streetscape Plan, design guidelines for privately owned commercial properties in Witchcliffe have been prepared to support cohesive character, built form, and development outcomes.

The policy seeks to:

  • Support the role and function of the Witchcliffe Village Centre area as a vibrant commercial precinct.
  • Maintain and expand the character elements which make the Witchcliffe Village Centre unique.
  • Encourage the use of hand crafted and recycled materials.
  • Provide for the generous provision of landscaping to complement existing native vegetation and mature trees which are to be retained.
  • Maintain development at a single story, low scale including open space at regular intervals between buildings along the streetscape.

Initial engagement with local businesses has been done to seek feedback on the draft Character Controls.

View the draft Witchcliffe Village Centre Character Controls and share your feedback via survey before 5pm Wednesday 10 June 2026.
